I did these drawings in 1999-2000. This is the first time they will be shown outside the family. It is part of a process for me and I was shocked when I first saw them on the site and now I am not sure how I feel about or even what my motives are?

They are drawings I made during the last six weeks of my Mother's life. She had finally moved to Dorset, but my hopes of spending time with her were truncated when she refused to eat or drink. This was part of my way of traveling the last part of her journey with her.

After she had died, I went to the Trinity Day centre and made drawings of other old people. You can see some of these elsewhere on the site.

On one level they show another aspect to my work. And they also show I hope, that the act of drawing and painting is attached to the deepest and most essential part of me. Maybe that is enough for a website.
